Fuel tanks range from 58 and 59 litres (Audi and BMW respectively) to 66 for the Lexus, yet despite the on-paper fuel consumption discrepancy of as much as 1.8 litres per 100km between the sippiest (BMW) and the guzzliest (Lexus), in the real world, our recorded fuel consumption figures were all within 0.12 litres per 100km of each other.
The General Manager of our local Audi Dealership is a close friend of the family and he let my wife and I drive a A6 3.2, A6 3.2 S-Line, A6 4.2, and A6 4.2 S-line. We loved the look fo the S-line, but the 530ix we drove handled so much better. The Audio felt so "heavy" to drive and seemed sluggish off the line.Prices for the new Audi TT S line start from £31,635 for the 227bhp 2.0-litre TFSI front-wheel drive manual – just fractionally less than the diesel featuring the same drivetrain and gearbox
The Audi A3 Sportback is really at home on the motorway, where an acoustic windscreen makes for very hushed progress. All the models ride well (avoid the S line with its sports suspension if comfort’s important), with little in the way of wind or road noise. The A3's interior is ultra-modern and as premium as you’d expect from an Audi.
